Being a pet owner is a life-changing experience, and the bond you share with your companion is filled with love, comfort, and devotion. Part of that love is knowing when it鈥檚 time to prevent unnecessary suffering, whether an animal is gravely ill, severely injured, or simply unable to enjoy their everyday life due to age or declining health.
Animal Care Centers of NYC offers low-cost, humane euthanasia services for clients whose income may prevent access to private veterinary care.

Our licensed veterinarians and Certified Euthanasia Technicians ensure every animal鈥檚 experience is as peaceful and stress-free as possible. We always follow American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) , which means:
We understand how difficult this moment is. In our shelter setting, we are not able to accommodate requests for guardians to be present during the procedure.
If you wish to stay with your pet through euthanasia, we recommend scheduling with your primary veterinarian.
We do not provide private burial or cremation options.
Making the choice to say goodbye is never easy. Our staff is here to support you with compassion and respect as you consider what is best for your pet.
These services provided during the following hours:
